2 drug smugglers carrying 4 kg 120 grams of opium arrested by CIA-1 . both the accused on police remand for 6 days

KAITHAL: continuing it's drive against drug peddlers kaithal police arrested a truck driver and his associate .Drug smuggler were caught by the CIA-1 police while continuously tightening the noose on drug smugglers.

During investigation, 4 kg 120 grams of opium was recovered from the possession of the accused and the truck used in drug smuggling was impounded

Police spokesperson said that the team of ASI Pradeep Kumar led by CIA-1 in-charge PSI Aman Kumar was present at village Pyoda Harsola Chowk Highway during evening patrolling. Where the police got secret information from its sources that Amarjeet alias Kalu, resident of village Narendrapura, district Mansa, Punjab and Babbu Singh, resident of Sunam, district Sangrur, Punjab are involved in opium smuggling in a truck. Who brought opium today in truck no. In PB 5089, Pehowa is going to Gobindgarh in Punjab via Patiala. These can be controlled by blocking Pyoda Harsola Chowk.

Since the information was reliable, the police formed a raiding party and took prompt action and started checking vehicles by blocking Pyoda Harsola Chowk Highway. Where after some time, the suspicious truck coming from Titaram Highway was stopped and the truck driver Amarjeet and his companion Babbu were overpowered . The spokesperson said that after police information, when the suspect was searched in front of DSP Kalayat Lalit Kumar who reached the spot as per rules, 80 grams of opium was recovered from plastic polythene in the possession of the accused Babbu. After this, when the curtain near the conductor side window in the cabin of the truck was removed and checked, 4 kg 40 grams of opium was recovered from a polythene. After registering a case against both the accused in Titram police station, both the accused were arrested by ASI Kamaljit Singh who reached the spot from CIA-1. Both the accused were presented in the court, from where police remand of 6 days was obtained from the accused for extensive interrogation.
