FAZILKA : Punjab Minister for Information and Public Relations and Housing & Urban Development Departments, Aman Arora said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann led Punjab Government would facelift the war memorial built near the Indo-Pak border in Fazilka district.
During his maiden visit to Fazilka district, while paying obeisance to the Martyrs of 1971 Indo-Pak war he at Asafwala village, Aman Arora said that the Punjab government would upgrade the monument built in the memory of the Martyrs at a cost of Rs 15 lakh besides a dedicated corridor from the National Highway to the Martyrs' Samadhi.
Apart from that solar powered lights and a pump would also be installed at the memorial added the Minister.A team from Punjab Energy Development Agency will visit the memorial soon in this regard.
Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora while paying homage to the martyrs of 1971 war said that the supreme sacrifices of our Martyr army personnel had secured the country's borders from the enemy. He added that the Punjab Government is making all out efforts to fulfill its duties towards the families of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country by increasing the financial assistance to Rs One crore.
He was accompanied by the Fazilka MLA Narindra Pal Singh Sawna and Balluana MLA Amandeep Singh Goldy Musafir, Punjab President of PhD Chamber of Commerce Karan Gilhotra.
He was welcomed by Sandeep Gilhotra, President, Shaheed Samadhi Committee. Among the district officials present on the occasion, included, ADC Dr Mandeep Kaur, SSP Avneet Kaur Sidhu, SDM Nikas Khinchad, Praful Nagpal, Shasi Kant.
Earlier, Public Relations Minister along with his family arrived at Gurudwara Giani Gurbakhsh Singh Ji at Fazilka to pay respect.
Later on, Cabinet Minister also dedicated the statue of Sri Arut Ji Maharaj at Fazilka on Sunday to the society. The statue has been got installed by Sri Arorvansh Welfare Society at Aroravansh Park in MC colony, Fazilka.
