PATIALA: BJP Punjab Vice President and daughter of former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, Jai Inder Kaur today addressed a press conference along with former PRTC Chairman KK Sharma and other senior Patiala BJP leaders, reminding the people of Patiala that it was former CM Captain Amarinder Singh that paved the way for Patiala's New Bus stand that was inaugurated by CM Bhagwant Mann today.
Addressing a press conference Jai Inder Kaur said, "We welcome CM Bhagwant Mann ji who has come to Patiala for the inauguration of our new bus stand. This bus stand was a dream project of Former CM Captain Amarinder Singh Ji and was started during his tenure in October 2020. The project aimed at decongesting roads of Patiala city was initiated at the cost of Rs 60.97 Crore and later Rs 6.10 crore more were sent by the CM for the construction of connecting bridge."
She further said, "We are grateful to Captain Amarinder for this project and I also urge the current CM that instead of taking fake credit he should give credit where credit is due and recognise the works done by Captain Amarinder Singh for the development of Patiala."
The BJP Punjab VP further said that, "The current AAP government is just betraying the people of Punjab, earlier it gave the lolipop of free electricity to the people and now after the Jalandhar elections are over they have immediately increased the power tariff, putting a major financial load on the shoulders of people of Punjab."
Talking about projects started by Captain Amarinder Singh, former Mayor Sanjeev Sharma Bittu said, "Captain Amarinder Singh ji during his last tenure as CM gave Patiala major projects costing over Rs 1200 crore. Starting from this New Bus stand to the major 24*7 Canal Based water project to the Choti Nadi Badi Nadi, all these projects were given to Patiala by Captain Amarinder Singh government."
BJP Patiala District President KK Malhotra said, "It's very shameful on the part of the government that it is not only taking credit for the works done by the Captain Amarinder Singh government, but also has failed to invite the current Patiala MP Preneet Kaur ji for the inauguration function."
