The farmers meeting for unity at Patran called for larger unity against the corporate onslaught on Agriculture

CHANDIGARH: The coordination meeting of SKM, SKM (NP) and KMM was held at Patran, near Khanauri border of Punjab successfully.

The meeting held in a cordial atmosphere with a deep understanding among the participants regarding the need of larger unity in the context of the series of corporate attack on agriculture on the behest of the NDA3 Government.

The visit of members of the six member committee along with other SKM leaders on 10th January at Khanauri Border to meet Jagjit Singh Dallewal and also Shambu Border, rescheduling the coordination meeting of both the platforms at Patran and the call to burn the copies of the National Policy Framework on Agricultural Marketing on 13th January have given a bold message of unity to the farmers across the country.

The meeting decided no public criticism will be made against each other by the platforms and kisan organisations and all differences will be discussed within the coordination system.

A coordination meeting is scheduled at 11 am on 18th January 2025 at Patran to discuss the future actions jointly and in coordination.

The meeting demanded the Prime Minister to immediately hold discussions with the Kisan organisations on the genuine demands including implementation of the agreement made by NDA2 Government with the SKM dated 9th December 2021and save the life of Jagjit Singh Dallewal who has been on fast unto death struggle for the last 49 days.

Members of the Six Member Committee, Joginder Singh Ugrahan, Balbir Singh Rajewal, P Krishnaprasad, Yudhvir Singh, Darshan Pal and Raminder Singh Patiala attended the meeting. SKM , leaders Baldev Singh Nihalgarh, Manjit Dhaner, Jhanda Singh Jethuke and Harinder Singh Tiwana also joined. The SKM(NP) and KMM leaders participated include Kaka Singh Kotra, Sarwan Singh Pandher, Abhimanyu Kohad, Manjit Singh Rai, Gurvinder Singh Bhangu, Lakhwinder Singh Aulakh, S.S Hardojhande, Amarjit Singh Mohri, Jaswinder Singh Longowal and Jarnail Singh Ratia.
