The birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with great enthusiasm

AMRITSAR: The birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev was celebrated with great enthusiasm here today and thousands of devotees paid obeisance and took a holy dip in sacred sarovar of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.

The Jaloo (an exhibition of ancient traditional Sikh jewellery) was held at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Akal Takht and Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib.

A religious Diwan (congregation) was also organised at Gurdwara Manji Sahib in which several Raagid Dhadid, and preachers recited the gurbani kirtan and thrown the light on teachings of Guru Nanak Dev ji.
The prayers were offered by Bhai Baljit Singh and the Holy Hukmanama was delivered by Granthi Singh Sahib Giani Kewal Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib. He shed light on the life of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and encouraged the devotees to follow the teachings of Guru Sahib.

Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami were also present in the congregation.

The entire Golden Temple complex was tastefully decorated with colourful lights and fireworks was organized after the bhog of rehras sahib path in the evening.

On this occasion, Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Additional Chief Registrar Giani Amarjit Singh, Giani Parvinderpal Singh, Shiromani Committee member Bhai Ram Singh, Bhai Ajaim Singh Practitioner, OSD S. Satbir Singh Dhami, Secretary. Pratap Singh, Mr. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, s. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Manager of Sri Darbar Sahib. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Deputy Secretary. Harbhajan Singh Wakta, s. Manjit Singh Talwandi, Superintendent Nishan Singh, S. Malkit Singh Beharwal, Manager S. Satnam Singh Riad, Additional Manager Bikramjit Singh Jhangi, s. Yuvraj Singh, Mr. All the staff including Gurtinderpal Singh and a large number of devotees were present.

Similarly the Guru Nanak's birth anniversary was also celebrated at Tarn Taran; Patti, Goindwal sahib, Khem Karan, Ajnala.
