SGPC demands to ban Kangna Ranaut's film emergency in Punjab

AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, expressing strong objection to the movie 'Emergency' made by BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, wrote a letter to the Chief Minister of Punjab Mr. Bhagwant Mann and asked him to completely ban it in Punjab. This movie is releasing on 17 January 2025.

In the letter written by Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami to the Chief Minister, it has been stated that the Shiromani Committee has expressed its protest regarding this film to the Chief Secretary of the Government of Punjab through letter No. 22211 dated 14.11.2024 Resolution No. 798 of the Inner Committee. Objections have already been filed by sending date 28.09.2024 have gone, through which it was clearly stated that 'Emergency film will not be allowed to run inside Punjab', as this film has been made in a policy manner with the aim of defaming Sikhs.
Through a resolution, the state government was asked to ban the release of this film in Punjab.

He said in the letter that it is a matter of regret that the Punjab government has not taken any steps to stop the film so far.

He said that if this film is released on January 17, 2025, then it is natural to create anger and resentment in the Sikh world.
It is worth noting that in this film, in 1984, the deadly attack on the holy shrines of Sikhs, Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Akal Takht Sahib and many other places, as well as spewing poison against the nation under the anti-Sikh agenda by suppressing the Sikh massacre and genocide. Work has been done in the spirit of Along with this, the national martyr of Sikhs Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwala has also been portrayed in the film.

The SGPC president said that Kangana Ranaut's emergency film should be immediately stopped from being released on January 17, 2025 in Punjab. If this film is released in Punjab, it will be strongly opposed by the SGPC at the state level.

Meanwhile, on the orders of Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami today, Shiromani Committee Secretary Pratap Singh and other officials submitted a letter to the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar demanding a ban on Kangana Ranaut's emergency film in Amritsar.

Apart from this, the Shiromani Committee has given demand letters to all the Deputy Commissioners at the district level in Punjab to stop the film.
