AMRITSAR: A special gathering was held today in Delhi under the leadership of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami in connection with the 300th birth centenary celebrations of Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgarhia, the great general of the Sikh community, in which prominent personalities participated.
The main event of the centenary is to be held on May 5 at Amritsar, while several events will also be organized in Delhi before that.
After the gathering regarding these events, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that the third birth centenary of Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgaria will be celebrated with Khalsai jaho-jalal.
He said that Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgaria was the Sikh general, who dug up the Delhi throne of the Mughal Emperor and brought it to Sri Amritsar. He said that the conquest of Delhi by Sardar Jassa Singh in the 18th century is a glorious page of Sikh history, which is a matter of pride for the Sikh community. Among the 12 misals, a powerful misal was headed by Sardar Jassa Singh Ramgaria. He said that the main event of the third birth centenary of this Sikh general will be held on May 5 at Sri Amritsar with panthic traditions.
He said that earlier on April 16, Khalsa Fateh March will start from Gurdwara Sri Rakab Ganj Sahib in Delhi, which will reach DDA Maidan Hari Nagar. A Kirtan Durbar will be held here on April 17 in which panth famous ragi jathas will be present. Similarly, the Khalsai Games will be held here on April 18.
On April 20, the Khalsa Fateh March will start from Gurdwara Chote Sahibzade Fateh Nagar Delhi for the next stage, which will reach Gurdwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib Patiala on April 21 after resting at Karnal. Khalsa March on 22nd April Gurdwara Baba Gandha Singh Barnala, 23rd Takht Sri Damdama Sahib Talwandi Sabo, 24th Sri Muktsar Sahib, 25th Bajidpur, 26th Alamgir Ludhiana, 27th Sri Fahitgarh Sahib and 28th April Takht Sri Kes Sahib Sri Anandpur Sahib. Will spend the night at Similarly, on 29th Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Gurdwara Sri Mau Sahib Phillaur will be visited on 30th, Jalandhar on 1st May, Kartarpur on 2nd, Sultanpur Lodhi on 2nd and Vishram Tarn Taran Sahib on 3rd May. On May 4, the Khalsa Fateh March will be completed by reaching Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
Advocate Dhami said that the main event of the centenary will be held at Gurdwara Sri Manji Sahib Diwan Hall Amritsar on May 5.
The SGPC president appealed to the whole community to participate in the centenary events.
