AAP MLA Naresh Yadav had been convicted by Malerkotla court
CHANDIGARH: The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) today asked Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Convener and chief minister Bhagwant Mann to explain why they wanted to withdraw the appeal in the holy Quran desecration case of Malerkotla in which AAP Delhi MLA Naresh Yadav had been convicted.
In a statement released here, senior party leader and former Minister Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and party Chief Spokesman Advocate Arshdeep Singh Kler said it was shocking to see that the Bhagwant Mann led AAP government wanted to withdraw this case which has been mentioned in the case verdict by the Judiciary.
He said it was now utterly clear before the people that AAP was instrumental in the sacrilege incidents in the State.
The SAD leaders said it was also clear to people of Punjab that AAP had nothing to do with the welfare of the people and instead was interested in instigating riots among different communities on the basis of religion.
