CHANDIGARH Chief Minister Punjab has assured the IAS officers of Punjab that they will take appropriate steps on the action taken by the Vigilance against Senior IAS officer Neelima.

This assurance was given by the Chief Minister during a meeting with a delegation of IAS officers, in which around 80 IAS officers were present, including Deputy Commissioners of districts and other IAS officers.

The delegation raised the issue with the Chief Minister regarding the case registered by Vigilance against IAS officer Neelima. The delegation stated that Vigilance has taken this action arbitrarily by flouting the law and rules and violating the CSR rules.

CM stated that in the campaign against corruption, he is with the government and he does not support any corrupt officer, but he opposes any action without completing the full legal and administrative process before taking action against any officer.

Neelima's husband IAS Amit Kumar was also present during this meeting which lasted for about an hour.

During this meeting, an IAS officer also raised the issue of the arrest of NS Prawana's son SP Singh from the cremation ground and termed it as unfortunate and inhumane and brought it to the attention of the Chief Minister.
