President Draupadi Murmu paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib

AMRITSAR: The President of India Draupadi Murmu paid obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib here today. The president of India offered Kara Prasad and listened Gurbani Kirtan.

On the occasion of bowing down at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, the President was honored with patasa prasad and a garland of flowers. She also went to Langar Sri Guru Ramdas Ji where he sat in the pangat and taken langar.
During the activities, Draupadi Murmu was informed about the history, manners, Sikh traditions of this holy place by the Shiromani Committee office bearers and information officers.

She was also specially honored by the Shiromani Committee at the Information Center of Sri Darbar Sahib.
On the occasion of the President's obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and other members and officials were present. Sharing his experience of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, he wrote in the travel book, “I am very happy to come to this holy place. With beautiful architecture and spiritual serenity, this holy place evokes feelings of peace and harmony. I have prayed here for the peace, progress and prosperity of the country. During the langar, it was a great joy to see the service workers working tirelessly, especially with the spirit of service and devotion. May the teachings of the Sikh Gurus inspire us to practice brotherhood and unity.”

Meanwhile, on the occasion of honoring Mrs. Draupadi Murmu at the Information Center of Sri Darbar Sahib, Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami also handed over two demand letters regarding the release of Bandi Singhs and the repeal of the Haryana Committee Act. In the petition submitted in the case of the release of the captive Singhs, it was said that despite serving long sentences, the Sikh captives are not being released. This is a gross violation of human rights.

It was demanded from the President to intervene in this matter and issue an order to the government to release Bandi Singh. In this demand letter Gurdeep Singh Khera, Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana, Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar and S. 9 Sikh prisoners including Jagtar Singh Hawara have been mentioned.
In the second demand letter, the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Act, 2014 has been demanded to be repealed. It has been said that the Haryana government has made this act in an unconstitutional manner. The provisions of the Sikh Gurdwara Act 1925 have been violated while creating the Haryana Committee Act. The management of historical Gurdwaras of Haryana is under the 1925 Act of the Shiromani Committee and at present Gurdwara Sahibs are notified under the same. It was demanded from the President that immediate action be taken to repeal this unconstitutional Haryana Committee Act.

Pratap Singh, OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib. Satnam Singh Mangasarai, Deputy Secretary. Jaswinder Singh Jassi, Deputy Commissioner Harpreet Singh Sudan, Commissioner of Police Naunihal Singh, DCP S. Praminder Singh Bhandal, SP Harpal Singh Randhawa, spokesperson of Shiromani Committee. Harbhajan Singh Speaker, Information Officer Amritpal Singh, Mr. Harinder Singh, Mr. Randhir Singh and others were present.
