Parkash utsav celebrated with great enthusium, nagar kirtan procesio oganised

AMRITSAR: The parkash utsav of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was celebrated with great enthusium and a religious nagar kirtan procession was taken out this morning.

The nagar kirtan which led by Panj Piaras {five bloved) was started from gurdwara Ram Sar Sahib after the BHOG OF Akhand Sahib Path.

The holy “Bir” of Guru Granth Sahib was carried in flower decked planquine and flower pettles were showered on it by devotees who lined up on both side of the route.. Nagar Kirtan procession after parading in the main bazaars of the city it was ended at Akal Takht Sahib.

Several gatka parties, school children and kirtani jathas have joined the procession. Gurbani shabad were recited by kirtani jathas like “ Dhur ki bani aai …, Santa ke karaj aap kholaya…,

A Jaloo { an exhibition of ancient traditional sikh jewelery was held at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib , Akal Takht Sahib and Gurdwara Baba Atal Sahib. And special programme was relayed by PTC hannel from 9 AM to 12 noon. And fireworks ws also organized after the bhog of Rehraas sahib path at sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib in the evening. The entire Golden Temple complex ad Akal Takht sahib was tastefully decorated with colourful lights and flowers.

A religious diwan { gurmat samagam) was held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib in which several raaigi, dhadis and preachers ecited the gurbani kirtan.

It may be mentioned that the Holy “Bir” of Guru Granth Sahib was brought to Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib by fifth guru Sri Guru Arjan Dev and Baba Budha ji was appointed first Head GRanthi of Harmandir Sahib.

Ri Guru Arjan Dev ji had directed Baba Budha ji “kholo granth deo awaja sune sab panth. First Hukamnama {Mukh waak} was came Suhi Mahalla Number 5 Santa Ke Karaj aap Khaloya hark am caravan aaya …”

The holy of Guru Granth Sahib contains 1430 Angs containing 5894 hymns of 30 bhgats, which include six guru sahib 11 bhatts 15 bhagats and four gursikhs.

President of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami congratulated the Sangat on the first Prakash Gurpurab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and said that the holy Gurbani is a source of inspiration to make human life pleasant and it is the duty of all to do so on this auspicious occasion. Let's live life according to Gurbani Ashe.

In his congratulatory message, he said that the Sri Guru Arjan Dev ji in the year 1604 edited the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and gifted humanity with the universal Holy Book, whose valuable teachings are a guide for human life.

He said that Gurbani forbids people from wrongdoing and teaches them to walk on the path of truth.
He appealed to the Sikh community to connect with Bani and Bana on the occasion of the first Prakash Purab.
