CHANDIGARH: Expressing concern over the deteriorating health of Kisan leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, who is on indefinite hunger strike, the Kirti Kisan Forum, an outfit of former IAS, IPS, Army officers and social activists has urged the Government authorities concerned to act fast to resolve the issues raised by farmer unions protesting at Shambu and Khanauri for the past many months.
Appreciating the struggle launched by Dallewal and his associates to serve the cause of small and marginal farmers, who are facing bad times, the KKF has urged all Kisan Unions to sink their differences and join hands to fight collectively for their demands. Forum has said that unity among farmer unions was a need of the hour and all senior leaders should come together at one platform to get their issues redressed. Reason for the struggle started by Dallewal and his partners is because the establishment has failed to keep the promises made to the farming community from time to time.
The forum has prayed for the good health of Dallewal and has urged the medical fraternity to extend all possible medical help to him.
