PHAGWARA: A mass wedding ceremony for 12 brides from economically disadvantaged families was organized by Helping Hands Organization and Punjab Radio London at Akali Gurdwara, Banga Road, Phagwara. The event was led by President Harminder Singh Basra, with generous support from the Indian diaspora.
The ceremony was attended by former Union Minister Som Parkash, Smt Anita Som Parkash, Pooja Singh, AAP Constituency In-Charge Joginder Singh Mann, Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Ashu Sampla, Ranjit Singh Khurana (Urban In-Charge, Akali Dal), Rajinder Singh Chandi (Rural), Daljeet Raju, and Gurjit Walia, who all bestowed their blessings on the newlywed couples.
In their remarks, the dignitaries praised the efforts of Helping Hands Organization and called the initiative a significant act of community service. Baspa and Surjit Singh Ghumman extended their gratitude to the notable guests for their presence. Other prominent attendees included Paramjit Kaur Kamboj, Malkeet Singh Raghbotra, Suresh Malhan, former Mayor Arun Khosla, Sukhwant Singh Basra, Manjit Kaur, Amandeep Kaur Basra, Komal Basra, Akashdeep Singh Basra, Navdeep Singh Basra, and Amit Shukla.
