MEHTA (AMRITSAR): Gurkanwar Singh grandson of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale got married to Harpreet Kaur at Damdami Taksal. Headquarters at Mehta 40 km rom here today. The marriage Ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries including Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, apart from Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh, Damdami Taksal head Harnam Singh Khalsa.
Gurkanwar Singh is grandson of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and son of Ishar Singh whereas Harpreet Kaur is daughter of Pradeep Singh.
On the occasion of this joy, the Jathedars of the Takht Sahibs, sects of the Sikh Panth, leaders of political parties and important religious personalities specially arrived. Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib, Giani Jagtar Singh, congratulated the happy couple and explained the Anand Karja Marayada by shedding light on Gurmat. The Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Harpreet Singh termed the Anand Karja performed in a simple manner as an exemplary one and called it a source of inspiration for others and also asked for the video recording of this simple and special Anand Karja to be broadcast all over the world. Sant Giani Harnam Singh Khalsa, head of Damdami Taksal, congratulated the whole panth on this occasion and welcomed the guests and honored the important personalities. Bhai Jasbir Singh Khalsa, the former Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib shed light on the biography of Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindran.
