AMRITSAR: Giani Jagtar Singh was honored during brief samagam which was held at Gurdwara Manji Sahib within Golden Temple complex here today.
Giani Raghbir Singh Jathedar of Akal Takht highest seat of sikh religion, Giani Sultan Singh Jathedar Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Giani Jaswinder Singh, Giani Gurbachan Singh former Jathedar Akal Takht and representatives of many Sikh Sabha Societies attended the ceremony.
Speaking at the same time, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Giani Jagtar Singh was serving as the Head Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, the central shrine of the Sikh community, is a great blessing of Guru Sahib which does not come to everyone.
He said that Giani Jagtar Singh has done his service in the fear of Guru and everyone appreciates his work.
He also said that Singh Sahib himself has found a new path by taking Seva Mukti.
Advocate Dhami expressed hope that Singh Sahib will continue to cooperate for the propagation of religion.
Talking about the current situation, Giani Raghbir Singh said that today Sikh traditions are being demolished through social media. Giani Raghbir Singh said that efforts should be made to increase panth unity by stopping the loss of panth on social media.
Giani Jagtar Singh performed services at religious places. From December 1993 to March 1994, he also served as Granthi Sri Darbar Sahib. Again on 7th August 2013, he was nominated by the Shromani Committee to perform the services of Granthi at Sri Darbar SahibFrom 2013 to 22 November 2022, he served as the Additional Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib. From November 2022 to 30 June 2023, he served as the Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib.
On this occasion, Singh Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh thanked the president of the Shiromani Committee, the Singh Sahibs and other personalities for the ceremony held in his honour. Earlier, Giani Jagtar Singh, the former chief scribe of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib also spoke. On this occasion, Giani Jagtar Singh was honored by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Shiromani Committee, the management of Sri Darbar Sahib and various service societies.
