AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has deployed five guides in Parkarma to provide necessary information to the people from the country and abroad who come to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
These employees, who were appointed a few days ago, have been given the responsibility of providing information about the Sikh history and the historical shrines, accommodation and langar etc. located at the Sri Darbar Sahib to the people arriving from outside Punjab at Sri Darbar Sahib. Along with this, it has been asked to keep the Sangat aware about the respect and manners of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami and General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal issued necessary guidelines along with these guides.
Advocate Dhami told them that every devotee should be given the necessary information respectfully and the devotees who are ignorant of Sikh culture and manners should be encouraged to follow the traditions and customs of the place when paying respect and reverence inside the Guru's house. In this regard, General Secretary Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal said that pilgrims from all over the world arrive at Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib, to whom, besides giving information about the manners and respect, as well as awareness about the services provided to the pilgrims here.
He said that these guides have been selected from among the employees of Sri Darbar Sahib who are already working, whose qualifications are satisfactory, according to the decision made by the Executive Committee of the Shiromani Committee.
He said that after deploying this guide, good results are coming out and the people are satisfied.
On this occasion Shiromani Committee member Pritam Singh Malsian, OSD Satbir Singh Dhami, manager of Sri Darbar Sahib. Satnam Singh Mangasarai, Superintendent Malkit Singh Beharwal, Manager Nishan Singh and Bikramjit Singh Jhangi was present.
