PHAGWARA: Reacting sharply to the crushing defeat of Arvind Kejriwal and senior leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Delhi.

Phagwara MLA Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Councilors Sanjeev Bugga, Bunty Walia, Jatinder Vermani and Phagwara Urban Block Congress General Secretary Ankush Dhiman said today that the people of Delhi have unmasked the so-called "honest" face of Kejriwal and delivered a resounding rejection of his party. They added that Punjab is now eager to replicate Delhi’s verdict and completely wipe out AAP in the upcoming elections.

"If elections were held in Punjab today, the people here would bury AAP just as Delhi has shrouded it, " They remarked.

They accused AAP of coming to power in Delhi by campaigning against corruption but ultimately being exposed, with Chief Minister Kejriwal and several of his senior ministers facing serious corruption charges and serving jail terms. They credited Congress for first exposing the liquor scam that, along with the extravagant "Sheesh Mahal" built using public money, led to AAP’s downfall in Delhi.

Congress Leaders also criticized the AAP-led Punjab government, accusing it of deceiving people with false promises. They cited the unfulfilled pledge to grant district status to Phagwara as an example of the party’s broken commitments. They further alleged that Punjab continues to struggle with issues like drug menace, mafia rule, gangster violence, thefts, robberies, and murders, highlighting the state's deteriorating law and order situation under AAP’s rule.

"As a result, AAP’s exit from Punjab and Congress’ return to power in the next assembly elections is inevitable, " They asserted
