AMRITSAR: Nehru Yuva Kendra Amritsar, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. Government of India in collaboration with District Administration Amritsar, today on 03.06.2022, on the occasion of World Cycle Day, under the Amrit Mahotsav program bicycle rally from India Gate Amritsar to Khandwala Chowk Amritsar was organised.
The chief guest of the program was Shri Harpreet Singh IAS SDM 2 Amritsar. Also other guests of the program were DEO S. Jugraj Singh, Cyclist Coach S. Simarpreet Singh, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Mr. Shyam Sundar Kashyap, retired state director, Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, Mr. Tajinder Singh. Raja Secretary Red Cross Society Amritsar, Dr. Malkit Mann Assistant Director Youth Services, Mr. Inderveer Singh District Sports Officer, Mr. Amrit Pal Singh Chahal SDO Pollution.
Pprogram was started with the national anthem followed by performance of team from Northern Zone Culture Center, Sanskriti. They presented Street play on the the theme of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
After this, District Youth Officer of Nehru Yuva Kendra, Amritsar, Aakanksha ji honored the chief guest Shri Harpreet Singh IAS and other guests, after which the bicycle rally was flagged off by the guests.
More than 150 youth participated in this bicylcle rally organized with the theme of Amritsar Mahotsav of Independence, the cycles were decorated with three-colour balloons, national tricolor, etc. Ideas of reducing pollution by using cycles were promoted with the spirit of patriotism and nationalism.
A total of 150 people participated in the program and at the end of the program certificates and refreshments were distributed to all the participants.
