Terms shameful attempt by Patiala police to shield perpeetrators of brutal assault on VColonel Bath and his son
CHANDIGARH: Calling it AAP's deep-rooted conspiracy to humiliate Punjab's farmers after using them for votes and cheap political motives, the Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar on Thursday here stated that it was at behest of Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann that Punjab was held to ransom and allowed to bleed financially and economically for 400 days for a dharna which was never in our state's longterm interests.
Chief Minister is solely repsonsible for pushing Punjab down the path of economic instability by first propping up a set of so-called fake farm leaders whose only aim was to settle their inflated egos and they had no concern for farmer welfare, Jakhar said raising the question that if Shambhu and Khanauri could be vacated yesterday without a semblance of protest by such farm leaders, why let Punjab bleed and suffer loss of lives and revenue for 400 days.
"It was Bhagwant Mann who forced farmers to first sit on dharna when it suited AAP during Lok Sabha Elections, and now it is the same Bhagwant Mann who is trying to take credit for vacating Shambhu and Khanauri to garner votes ahead of Ludhiana bypoll, " Jakhar said here while adding that CM is directly responsible for loss of precious lives, revenue and jobs during the blockade for instigating farmers.
Jakhar while addressing a press conference at his residence today afternoon said that the biggest set back would be to Punjab's innocent Kissan and Kissani which have been waylaid and appropriated by an unholy alliance of AAP, so-called farm leaders and Congress party 'cheeleaders' who know nothing about real concerns of agriculture.
On being asked to respond to immediate cause for yesterday's events, Jakhar said Kejriwal's desperation for Ludhiana has forced state government's hand and now they have asked so called farmer leaders who were in collusion with AAP since day one to vacate Shambhu and Khanauri.
The 'Vakeel' has turned hostile, Jakhar quipped referring to the time when CM used to be an advocate for farmer rights. "Have you ever heard that an advocate turns hostile. We have all seen witnesses turning hostile. This is the true face of Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal, who arrested farmers after calling them for a meeting to address their issues, Jakhar said.
Appealing to Ludhiana voters, Jakhar cautioned them to remain vigilant and not fall prey to the industry propaganda of Kejriwal. They just need your votes and are now using the trope of industry and jobs just like they once did for farmers, Jakhar said adding that people of Ludhiana will vote out nefarious designs of AAP in the ensuing bypoll.
Responding to a query, state BJP Chief challenged congress leadership to come clean on their demand for MSP legal guarantee.
"Punjab congress leadership should first make it clear whether they are in consonance with demand for MSP legal guarantee. Do they actually have a hint what Punjab's farmer needs since all our paddy and wheat already gets procured by Centre at MSP, Jakhar added.
Referring to brutal assault on Colonel Batth and his family in Patiala, Jakhar while demanding strictest action against those responsible for this assault said that lawlessness in Punjab is now even threatening the fabric of bonhomie and respect for our Army bravehearts who serve the nation with their blood.
"The attempts being made to shield policemen who attacked Colonel Batth are despicable. CM Bhagwant Mann and Kejriwal has not uttered a single word till now on this barbarous attack on a serving Army Officer by Punjab Police, which speaks volumes about their concern for our fauz and our jawans, Jakhar added.
