After winning the bronze medal in the Olympics, the players of the Indian hockey team paid obeisance at Golden Temple

AMRITSAR: The players of the Indian hockey team, who returned to the country after winning the bronze medal in the Paris Olympics 2024, today came to Sri Harimandar Sahib (Golden Temple) here to pay obeisance.

On this occasion, the president of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, honored the hockey players with a golden model of Sri Harmandir Sahib, religious books and syrup at the information center of Sri Darbar Sahib.

Speaking to the media on this occasion, SGPC President said that it is a matter of honor and pride for us that whenever there has been full participation of players from Punjab in the Indian hockey team, the team has made great achievements. Winning a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics is also one of them.

He congratulated the hockey players for this achievement and prayed for more big achievements in the future.
He said that the players of Punjab included in the team have repeated the history related to hockey of Punjab after a long period.

Advocate Dhami while addressing the youth said that they should take inspiration from the large number of Punjabi players in the country's hockey team and come forward in sports.

Advocate Dhami said that the Sikh organization Shiromani Committee has always been encouraging the sportsmen and in the future also the youths who will increase the pride of Punjab and Sikhs will continue to be encouraged.

He specially mentioned the proven Gur Sikh player Germanpreet Singh who played for the Indian hockey team and encouraged the players belonging to Sikh families to maintain their Sikh image.

Speaking to the media on this occasion, the captain of the hockey team. Harmanpreet Singh said that he felt blessed to pay obeisance at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib with the team players today.

He said that this achievement was possible by the team only due to the blessings of Guru Sahib and he prayed for better performance for the team in the future.. He expressed his gratitude for the respect and honor received by the Shiromani Committee.

On this occasion, Shiromani Committee Member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Secretary S. Pratap Singh, Deputy Secretary Jaswinder Singh Jassi, s. Shahbaz Singh, Mr. Harbhajan Singh Speaker, Superintendent S. Nishan Singh, Manager Satnam Singh Riad, s. The nine players of the Indian hockey team who arrived at Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib for thanks giving included captain Harmanpreet Singh, Germanpreet Singh, Manpreet Singh, Mandeep Singh, Hardik Singh, Sukhjit Singh, Gurjant Singh, Shamsher Singh, Jugraj Singh. Apart from this, the coach of the team and the family members of the players were also with them.
