AMRITSAR: Taking strong notice of the interference in Sikh affairs by the Aam Aadmi Party government of Punjab, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, has advised the government to focus on improving the situation in the state within its jurisdiction.

In a statement issued here today, Advocate Dhami strongly criticized the deliberate policy-based interference in Sikh affairs by Punjab Government Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains in the Vidhan Sabha.

He said that Sikhs themselves know how to solve the issues of Sikhs and interference by governments in these issues is a big challenge to national sentiments.

He said that the government should stay within its sphere and focus on the welfare of the people of Punjab and improving the deteriorating situation in every sector of the state and not distract the people by interfering in Sikh issues.

Advocate Dhami said that the people of Punjab are yearning for various facilities while the government representatives are going beyond their jurisdiction and interfering in the internal affairs of the Sikhs.

He said that if the Aam Aadmi Party government is so interested in Sikh issues, then it should resolve the issue of the imprisoned Sikhs, in which they have been resisting for ten years during their rule in Delhi.

He said that the release of Prof. Devinderpal Singh Bhullar was in the hands of the Delhi government, towards which they deliberately maintained a negative attitude.

He advised the Aam Aadmi Party Punjab government to remain confined to its jurisdiction and not interfere in the internal affairs of the Sikhs.
