CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government led by Bhagwant Mann and AAP leaders have defended police action against the farmers and arrest of senior farmer leaders sitting on dharna on Khanauri and Shambu borders.
Harpal Singh Cheema Finance Minister said that state government's decision to remove agitation farmers from borders of Punjab was justified and need of the hour. He said that due to blocking of Punjab's borders, new investment was not coming and state is facing economic crisis due to agitation. He said that all demands of farmers were related to center government. He told the farmers that farmers should go to Delhi to protest.
Malwinder Singh Kang AAP MP said that police action against farmers was taken in larger interests of Punjab. He said that tourists were not coming to Punjab due to farmers agitation and protests were hurting economy of the state. he said that not even a single demand of farmers is linked with the farmers. He said that industry was not coming to Punjab due to disturbance. He advised the farmers to start dharna against center government at Delhi.
It is recalled that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had also ordered the police to foil the protest launched by SKM leaders and they were not allowed to march towards Chandigarh.
