17 properties of Sugar Mill Directors would be auctioned on November 29

PHAGWARA: Keeping in view of the non-payment off the arrears of Rs 27 Crores of sugar cane growers, the administration has announced to hold Auction of 17 different properties of Golden Sandhar Sugar Mills Phagwara.
SDM Phagwara Jashanjit Singh while confirming it told this correspondent here today that Tehsildar Phagwara will hold auction of these properties on November 29 to pay the arrears of the farmers.
SDM Jashanjit told that these properties of Mill Directors include
20 kanals 10 marlas kothi of Ambir Singh Wahid in village Dhack Bhularai,
7 kanals 6 marlas kothi of Balbir Kaur Sandhar in Phagwara city,
54 kanals 7 marlas land of Harpreet Singh Bains in village Bidd Dhandholi,
89 kanals land of Balbir Kaur Sandhar in village Nihalgarh,
104 kanals 7 marlas land of Balbir Kaur Sandhar in village Jagatpur-Jattan,
18 kanals 16 marlas land of Jaskaran Singh Bains in village Bidd Dhandoli,
19 kanals 6 marlas land of Balbir Kaur Bains in village Bidd Dhandoli
22 kanals 4 marlas land of Balbir Kaur in village Rawalpindi
46 kanals 12 marlas land of Jaskaran Singh Bains in village Dhandholi
76 kanals 3 marlas land of Harpreet Singh Bains in village Dhak Dhandoli,
3 kanals 4.50 marlas land of Harpreet Singh in village Bidd Dhandoli,
2 kanals 8 marlas of Sandip Singh Wahid in village Khurampur
7 marlas of Sandeep Wahid in village Dhak Khurampur

Tehsildar Baljinder Singh will conduct the auction, said SDM Jashanjit Singh.
Meanwhile a close door meeting of activists of Bhartiya Kisan Union(Doaba) was held at Gurdawara Shri Sukhchain Sahib Phagwara to prepare the next strategy of their agitation against non-payment of the arrears of sugarcane growers. BKU President Manjit Singh Rai presided over the meeting.
BKU General Secretary Satnam Singh Sahni said the meeting discussed that approx. 27 Crores of pending arrears are standing towards Golden Sandhar Sugar Mill Phagwara for the season 2021-22 which have not been paid to the farmers till now.
They further discussed that though local administration of Phagwara has organized auction of attached land of previous Sugar Mill owners on November 29 and the revenue of which would be used to pay the pending arrears of farmers, but all depends upon the result of auction, said Sahni.

They further appealed that swift efforts should be made towards the payment of farmers.

During the meeting in regard to the call of Delhi Chalo on December 06 the leaders stated that it has been decided by the leadership of KMM and SKM (Non-Political) that on December 06, jatha under the leadership of Sarwan Singh Pandher would march towards Delhi, on December 07, jatha under the leadership of Surjit Singh Phul, BKU/Krantikari, on December 08, jatha under the leadership of Jaswinder Singh Longowal, BKU/Ekta Azaad and on December 09, jatha under the leadership of Manjit Singh Rai, President BKU/Doaba would march towards Delhi.

Sahni said that the leaders/activists of BKU/Doaba would gather at Ladowal Toll Plaza, Ludhiana at 0600 hrs on December 09 and move towards Shambhu Border in vehicles, and further from Shambu Border would carry foot march towards Delhi.
