BADAL: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) President Sukhbir Singh Badal said there was a clear wave in favour of the SAD-BSP alliance and that it was poised to touch the eighty figure mark and form the next government in Punjab.
Talking to newsmen after casting his vote here, the SAD president said “people have decided to give a clear mandate in favour of the SAD-BSP alliance on the basis of its pro-farmer and pro-poor agenda as well as unique election manifesto which caters to each and every section of society”. He said the erstwhile SAD led governments also had a track record of record and speedy development and had established massive road and air infrastructure besides making the State power surplus. People remember these achievements and are rewarding the alliance with their precious vote to kick start development again in the State. They also want good governance and respect for the rule of law which has deteriorated completely”.
Mr Sukhbir Badal said the turnout in the elections and the enthusiasm of the people to vote the SAD-BSP to power was visible throughout the day. “I thank the people for their support from the core of my heart”, he added.
