WASHIGTON: 102 leaders from many religions joined to express their support for President Biden’s climate agenda. EcoSikh was represented by Dr. Rajwant Singh. He recited a hymn by Guru Nanak, the founder of the Sikh faith and shared the Sikh perspective on environment.

President Biden recently proposed $2.2 trillion American Jobs Plan, which includes investments in renewable energy and modernizing electric grid, electrifying transportation and expanding public transit, investing in clean water infrastructure for all communities.

Dr. Rajwant Singh said, “We need Congress to pass the American Jobs Plan with its promise of a Clean Energy Standard that gets us to 100% clean electricity by 2035”.

We must invest with justice, ensuring President Biden’s campaign promise of at least 40% of funds going to the Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities, and low income communities, most hurt by our dirty fossil fuel economy. This gathering was organized by the Interfaith power and Light, a national organization focused on environmental issues.
