PHAGWARA: An incident of alleged assault and snatching from Kashmiri Shawl sellers was reported to Kapurthala Police by Mohammad Safi khoja r/o Dardpura ps Karalpur distt. Kupwara now r/o C/o Kishan lal khurana ward no. 04 Muhalla Khurampati ps Shahkot distt. Jallandhar. On receiving the information at PS Sultanpur Lodhi immediate action was taken by the Police.
An FIR no. 12 dt 19-1-2025 u/s 307, 309, 127(2), 351(2), BNS (382, 390, 341, 506 IPC) was registered at PS Sultanpur Lodhi. Multiple police teams were constituted to work on technical and human intelligence aspects of the incident. Taking swift action, the police teams apprehended the accused Rajkaran r/o Dandupur ps Talwabdi chodrian distt. Kapurthala within 24 hours. The other two accomplices of the accused have been identified and teams are taking action to apprehend them at the earliest.

SSP Kapurthala Gaurav Toora IPS briefed about the entire incident and the action taken by the Police. He stated that the Police is relentlessly working to ensure safety and security of people. Furthermore, he has appealed people to keep vigil on their surroundings for anti-social elements and inform police about such elements on 112 helpline for prompt help.
