Bomb thrown on Thakur Dwara temple in Amritsar damaged structure, panic in the area

AMRITSAR:  Two unidentified miscreants threw a crude bomb on Thakur Dwara temple in Khandwala in Amritsar. The blast badly damaged to out wall of the temple. The incident has created panic in the area.

The blast reported to have occurred after midnight around 2 AM. The CCTV footage shows two persons who came on scooter threw an object, possibly a hand grenade or crude bomb on the temple. After the blast local residents gathered at the scene and informed the police.

The Police Commissioner G.P.S Bhullar said that police reached on the spot immediately and forensic team collected evidence from the spot. He said that accused would be arrested soon. He warned the miscreants against indulging in terror activities. He said that Pakistan ISI was behind such incidents. In the past blasts were made outside police stations and all the accused were arrested.

The local residents blamed that police removed the debris of the temple wall in haste to hide the incident. People said that it was failure of security officials.
