CHANDIGARH: Chandigarh administration has decided not to impose weekend lockdown due to Covid surge following opposition by traders associations.
The decision was taken at a high level meeting held under the Chairmanship of Punjab Governor and Chandigarh administrator V.P.Singh Badnore.
According to Manoj Parida advisor to Administrator, there wil; be no week end lock down and night curfew hours have also been reduced. Now night curfew will start from 10 PM till 5 AM. Earlier, curfew timings were fixed from 8 PM to 5 AM.
Punjab government has ordered night curfew from 8 PM to 6 AM in the state besides weekend lockdown. As a result weekend curfew in imposed in Mohali neighbouring Chandigarh. There is also no weekend lockdown in Panchkula in Haryana.
