LUDHIANA: 9th Youth festival of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana started with fine arts events. Dr. Satyavan Rampal, Director Students Welfare was the Chief Guest of the inaugural session whereas Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Dean, College of Veterinary Science and Dr. Ramneek, Director School of Animal Biotechnology were guest of honor.
Dr. Rampal said that youth festivals are appropriate medium of internal expression of students. We are providing good facilities to students to improve their performance. Participants were also in high spirits. Nidhi Sharma, Organizing Secretary of festival said that in first day competitions there were three events, Photography, Poster Making and Cartooning. Total 09 students participated in Photography competition, 11 in Poster making and 08 students in Cartooning. The Subject for the Photography competition was ‘Welcome Winter’, for Poster Making subject was ‘Agro Pollution and for Cartooning, the topic was ‘Political Corruption.’
In the afternoon session Dr K S Sandhu, Dean, College of Fisheries graced the occasion as Chief Guest whereas Dr. Simrat Sagar Singh, Superintendent Veterinary hospital was guest of honor.
College of Veterinary Science, College of Dairy Science and Technology, College of Fisheries, School of Animal Biotechnology, Veterinary Polytechnic, Kaljharani participated along with affiliated college, Khalsa College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, Amritsar in these events. Dr. N K Sood President, Dance Drama and Music Club of GADVASU said that Clay Modeling and Collage making competitions will be held on 31 October 2018 (10. 00 a.m.) at same venue, Examination Hall of College of Veterinary Science.
