MOHALI: The State Council of Education Research and Training (SCERT), Punjab, in association with Desh Bhagat University (DBU), organized the much-anticipated State-Level Role Play and Folk Dance Competition 2024.
This event, known for celebrating Punjab’s cultural heritage and promoting creative expression in education, saw students from across the state competing in various categories with great enthusiasm.
Held on the campus of Desh Bhagat University in Sri Hargobind Hall and Mahapragya Hall the competition brought together talented students from different districts, who showcased their skills in role-play activities and traditional Punjabi folk dances.
The competition featured a wide range of themes relevant to social, historical, and cultural narratives, with students displaying creativity and social awareness through engaging performances.
On this occasion Amaninder Kaur Brar (PCS), Director SCERT Punjab was the chief guest. On this occassion Desh Bhagat Universit Chancellor Dr Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr Tajinder Kaur honoured Amaninder Kaur Brar, Director SCERT Punjab with phulkari and DBU plaque.
In his opening remarks, Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, said, “This competition is a reflection of our commitment to supporting the growth of Punjab’s youth by providing platforms where they can express themselves and connect with their heritage.”
At the end of the function, DBU Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadavarti thanked the dignitaries and brief the participants about the history of the Desh Bhagat University and its various programs.
Among others, SCERT Assistant Director Dr. Boota Singh, DBU Education Department Director Dr. Precious, Dr. Surjit Patheja, Director Performing Arts and Media, Assistant Professor Rajwinder Kaur were present on this occasion.
