MOHALI: Rayat Bahra University held the second convocation of international students here today where students from different countries, Zambia, Ghana, Afghanistan, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Malawi and Nigeria, were awarded degrees.
Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions and Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University, delivered the convocation address.
Students from different courses including computer application, management, pharmacy and engineering were conferred degrees.
In his address Bahra said that it was a memorable day for the students who were now ready to face life in this competitive world and wished the students success in life. He exhorted the students to excel whatever field they chose to work in and said that dedication and sincerity were the key words to success.
Speaking on the occasion, Sahila Bahra, vice president said the university was committed to developing high quality, professionally groomed technical and engineering manpower possessing multifaceted personality with respect for professional and social ethics, national values and the spirit of human emancipation.
AC Vaid, Advisor to the Chancellor, on this occasion, said that the Rayat Bahra University over the years had carved a niche for itself in academic and extracurricular activities and was attracting students not only from different parts of the country but abroad also.
BS Satyal Registrar of the university, said that the university believed in providing opportunities to students to broaden their horizons and develop cross-cultural perspectives enabling them to engage in the adventure of learning and discovery.
Deepak Sharma, Director of International affairs said the students who were awarded degrees today were from the University School of Engineering and Technology, University School of Sciences, University School of Social Sciences, and the University School of Management Studies.
