Satellite system to catch violators of burning stubble Gurdaspur district stood first in collecting fine

GURDASPUR: Beware stubble burning farmers, the district administration has been keeping a strict vigil on the violators as the agriculture department using satellite system first time to watch the farmers who indulge in burning of stubble in their fields in this border district.
Thanks to the satellite system , district Gurdaspur has been stood first in collecting fine on burning of stubble in state and district administration has caught 994 cases of stubble burning through satellite system launched from Ludhiana, followed by Ludhiana district.
The deputy commissioner Amit Kumar disclosed here today that district administration strictly watching the burning of stubble by the farmers through satellite and for this purpose the district had constituted a number of team which imposed fine after getting mobile messages.
He said that agriculture department has collected Rs. 2 lakh 60,000 fine from the violator farmers and agriculture department has collected the information regarding the burning of stubble through satellite .
He said that agriculture department has constituted stubble monitor committees at block level and work on the report provided by the satellite on the recommendations of National Green tribunal New Delhi.
He appealed the farmers not to leftover in their fields because satellite would catch their activities immediately, if they tried to burn the leftover even.
He said that burning of stubble in field not only effect the crop rotation and nutrient loss of the production capacity of the land but also create pollution problem in the area. So that National Green Tribunal has totally banned the burning of stubble in the fields by the farmers to save the environment .
He suggested the farmer to use paddy straw, Chopper Shredder, Rotaweter , happy seeder, zero tell drill ,bollar , mover, straw reaper and Mold bold machinery for leftover .
