S.A.S NAGAR:'With the easing of the lockdown restrictions and the opening of the public transport system, the buses as well as the bus stands are being made use of in an effective manner to drive home the message of Mission Fateh i.e. to make the common people aware with regard to keeping safe from corona virus by complying with safety precautions laid down by the health department.'' These views were disclosed here today by the GM, Punjab Roadways Karanjit Singh Kaler on the occasion of honouring 100 Mission Fateh Warriors of the department with the badges.
Divulging more, he said that the posters, exhorting the people to wear masks when going out, washing of hands with the sanitizers and soap for 20 seconds as often as possible and maintaining the social distance, have been put in all the bus stands at the prominent locations. Besides this, the theme song of Mission Fateh and the audio messages are also ensured to be played inside the buses. Apart from this, the message exhorting the people to download COVA app is also being played inside all the buses as well as the bus stands through the public address system.
The employees of the Punjab Roadways have also emerged as the role models in the war against corona virus with many of them undertaking visits to Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib to bring back the stranded pilgrims at the risk of their lives. Notable in this regard are bus conductors Gurinder Singh and Rajvir Singh who returned from Sri Hazoor Sahib and were found positive for corona virus. But, after successfully undergoing the isolation period, they have rejoined their duties.
He appealed to all the sections of the society to join hands and observe strictly the health protocols in order to defeat the corona pandemic.
