SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur demands to open Kartarpur Sahib corridor

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee President (SGPC) Bibi Jagir Kaur has targeted the Government of India for not reopening the corridor of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan. 

Jagir Kaur  was addressing the religious  diwan (congregation) after  inauguration  of  langar  hall  at Gurdwara  Baba Budha Sahib at Ramdas  40 kilometres from here on Wednesday  she said that  it seemed

as if the Government of India had opened the corridor of Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan where the feet of the first Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji was touched only to belittle the eyes of the Sangat. If the government had been serious in this regard, it would have taken the initiative to reopen the long-closed corridor. 

She  said that now that places of worship and other public places had been opened, there should be no excuse for corona at Kartarpur Sahib  While taking  to media  persons  She said  that the Government of India should immediately open the Sri Kartarpur Sahib corridor as it was associated with the sentiments of the Sikh community. 

Bibi Jagir Kaur said that letters have been written to the Government of India in this regard many times and another letter will be written soon.

Meanwhile, Bibi  Jagir Kaur strongly condemned the neglect of the heritage monuments by the present government and said that the SGPC would try to make the environment clean by planting saplings in these monuments. 

She  said that the Akali government had tried its best to pass on the heritage to the new generation by setting up monuments but the present government was not making serious efforts for the maintenance of these monuments.

Bibi Jagir Kaur, in reply to a question, termed the false propaganda of Sudhir Suri against Sikh principles and Sri Harmandir Sahib as an expression of his sick mentality. 

She said that such people were deliberately trying to spoil the peaceful atmosphere of Punjab and were on the lookout for fraternal harmony. 

She  said that the governments should keep a close eye on such people so that the atmosphere in Punjab would not deteriorate.
Meanwhile, Bibi Jagir Kaur inaugurated the Langar Hall and Diwan Hall at Gurdwara Tap Asthan Baba Buddha Sahib Ramdas and also unveiled the foundation stone of the administrative block at Gurdwara Samadh Baba Buddha Sahib.

Former MLA and  Amarpal Singh Bonny Ajnala thanked the SGPC President Bibi Jagir Kaur for arranging the work related to Gurdwara Baba Buddha Sahib at Ramdas town.
