Majithia distributes 395 cycles to girl students under Mai BhagoVidya Scheme

CHANDIGARH : Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia distributed 395 free cycles to the needy students under state’s Mai BhagoVidya Scheme here in three schools of Kathunangal, Chawinda Devi and Tahli Sahib.

 

Distributing the cycles to girl students of class XI and XII, Majithia lauded the brainchild of Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal with a view to providing facility to girl students pursuing education in nearby villages. He said that Punjab government was committed to impart quality as well as technical to students in rural areas. He said that Mai BhagoVidya Scheme was a step forward in this regard so that girl students could reach their respective schools easily.

 

Majithia distributed as many as 154 cycles at Government Senior Secondary School Kathunangal, 145 at Chawinda Devi and 96 at Tahli Sahib Schools. Besides this, the Minister also dedicated three state-of-the-art rooms built at a cost of Rs. 40 lakh in association with NRI Dr. Nihal Singh USA.
