CBI arrests two accused including an Inspector of Delhi Police in bribery case

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation has today arrested an Inspector of Delhi Police and another Government official staying at Vasant Kunj Enclave, New Delhi in an on-going investigation of a case related to alleged bribery.

Both the arrested accused will be produced tomorrow in the Designated Court at Delhi

The instant case was registered on 09.08.2017 against a private person, residing at R.K.Puram, New Delhi; another private person, resident of Vasant Kunj, New Delhi; an official presently staying at Vasant Kunj Enclave, New Delhi; an official of Delhi Police and other unknown public servants/private persons u/s 120-B of IPC read with Sections 8 & 10 of PC Act.,1988 on the allegations of criminal conspiracy, illegal gratification & commission of offence of abetment by the public servant. During course of investigation, CBI had intercepted the accused persons and recovered the alleged gratification amount of Rs.10 Lakh (approx) from the private persons.

Searches were conducted at the premises of accused persons in Delhi. During the search at the premises of a private person in Delhi (resident of R.K.Puram), cash of Rs.1.6 crore(approx), certain alleged rubber stamps of various Ministries/Department of Govt. of India & forged letter head of various Senior Government officers and incriminating documents were recovered. CBI had earlier arrested said two private persons (residing at R.K.Puram & Vasant Kunj, New Delhi) in the case, and presently both are in police custody.
