HMV outshines in the 48th GNDU Inter-College Athletics Championship

JALANDHAR : The Athletic Team of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya won the 48th GNDU Inter-College Athletics Championship held at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar from 1st to 4th November. The team got winner position with 77 points. The college has won this championship after 5 years by defeating Khalsa College for Women, Amritsar and Khalsa College, Amritsar. Balwinder Kaur won the Gold Medal in Javelin throw. In 4x100 meters Relay Sapna won the Gold Medal. Kuljit Kaur and Sarabjit Kaur won the Gold Medal in Hammer throw and Heptathlon respectively. Triple Jumper Sukhpreet Kaur won the Silver Medal in Triple Jump category. Manpreet Kaur and Tejinder Kaur won the Silver Medals in 4x400 meters. Relay. Sharandeep Kaur won Gold Medal in 4x100 meters. Relay, and Silver in 100 Mtrs. Hurdles and 400 meters. Hurdles. Mandeep Kaur gave the best performance by winning Gold in 100 meters. Hurdles, 400 meters. Hurdles and 4x100 Mtrs. Relay. Manisha got the Gold Medal in 5000 Mtrs. & 1500 Mtrs. and Silver in 4x400 meters. Relay. Manpreet Kaur won the Gold in 4x100 meters. Relay whereas Mandeep Kaur got Silver for the same. Manpreet Kaur also won Gold Medal for 100 meters. and Bronze for 200 meters. Navneet Kaur won Silver Medal for Hammer Throw. Km. Manpreet Kaur declared Fastest Women of GNDU. Shivani got Gold for 5000 meters. Walk. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen congratulated the coaches and the winners for their achievement. Coaches of the teams Sarabjit Singh Happy, M.S. Dhillon, HOD Physical Education Deptt. Sudarshan Kang and Sukhwinder Kaur were also present.
