Phagwata Police registers four cases under anti-dowry act to mark 'Dhian Die Lohri'

PHAGWARA:  Virtually celebrating, “Dhian Di-Lohri” The  Phagwara Police have registered four cases Under Anti-Dowry Act on the complaints of four different Young Women against their respective in laws only in one day on Friday.
On a complaint lodged by Green Park Phagwara resident Suman the City Police Phagwara has registered case under section 498A/406 IPC against her  Canada based NRI husband Ravi Duggal, Dehraddon residents Father-in-law Chaman Lal and mother-in-law Raj Kumari on the charges of torturing her physically and mentally to fulfil their demands of more dowry. The Victim told the police that She was married on October 10 in 2016, her parents spent huge amount on the marriage and gave sufficient dowry articles and alleged that though her husband went to Canada soon after her marriage but her in laws demanded Rs 15 Lac to prepare documents for her Visa. No arrest has ben made till so for. The Police is investigating the matter.
In second case, on a complaint lodged by Phagwara Village Atholi resident Dalbir Kaur,The Sadar Police has registered case under section 498A/406IPC against her Urban Estate Jalandhar resident husband Mukhtiar Ram and his two close relatives Paramjit Ram and Surinder Kaur on the charges of harassing her physically and mentally for more dowry.
IN THIRD case on the complaint of Hadiabad resident Young Woman Anjali Sharma, the Satnampura Police has registered case under section 498A/406 IPC against her Village Soondh resident husband Mandip Kumar, his mother Parveen Rani, Sisters Aarti and Gitanjali and father Lekh Raj on the charges of demanding more dowry and torturing her physically and mentally to fulfil their demands. No arrest has been made till so for.
IN FOURTH Case on the complaint of Basant Nagar Phagwara resident Reeta Marok the Satnampura Police has booked  her USA based NRI husband Vikas Kumar his father Ajay Kumar and mother Pinki under section 498A/406IPC on the charges of harassing her to bring more dowry. The Police is investigating the matter.
