PATIALA: Over 350 students and faculty members were examined at a free eye and dental checkup camp at the Rayat Bahra, Patiala Campus.
Campus Director Dr Piush Verma inaugurated the camp along with RMO and Director-Principals of Management, Engineering, Pharmacy, Law and Polytechnic, by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Dr Piush Verma said that there was urgent need to improve co-ordination between the students’ health capacity for addressing vision health and other health programmes. Patiala campus organizes free health check-up camps periodically to keep the students be aware of their health status.
Dr Manpreet Singh, MS (Eye) Phaco and Lasik Surgeon, tested and examined the students’ eyes with his supporting team.
Dr Prabhjot Kaur, Dental Surgeon, advised for regular check-up and dental care. More than 360 students of engineering, management, Pharmacy, Law and Polytechnic got their vision tested and dental check-up. Faculty members, non-teaching and staff members also took advantage of this facility.
Campus Director Dr Piush Verma felicitate the two doctors and their team members and presented them with a token of remembrance.
The camp was a great help to the supporting staff of administration i.e., house-keeping staff, maintenance , security and horticulture staff members belonging to the rural areas took advantage of getting their family-members and friends examined free of cost.
Chairman of the Rayat Bahra Group of Institutions (RBGI) Gurvinder Singh Bahra appreciated the efforts of Patiala Campus in organizing the free dental and eye check-up camp and said that Rayat Bahra Group had been undertaking such social welfare projects from time to time.
