Tragedy Strikes Suresh Raina's Family in Dharamsala Road Accident

DHARAMSALA: Suresh Raina, the former Indian all-rounder known as Mr. IPL, has been hit by tragic news amidst his stint as a commentator in the current IPL season. Late Wednesday night, Raina's maternal cousin was among two fatalities in a hit-and-run accident near Dharamsala.

The accident occurred near Gaggal airport, involving a collision between a scooter and a car. Both individuals on the scooter, identified as Saurabh Kumar, Raina’s cousin, and his friend Shubham from Kuthman, lost their lives. The driver responsible for the collision initially fled the scene, leaving behind a devastating scenario.

However, swift action by the local authorities led to the arrest of the accused, Sher Singh, from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. The arrest was facilitated by the analysis of CCTV footage which captured the tragic event. Superintendent of Police (SP) Kangra, Shalini Agnihotri, reported that the incident took place around 11:30 pm on Tuesday near Himachal Timber in Gaggal.

A case has been registered against Singh under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code, along with section 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act. This incident has cast a shadow over the local community and has left Raina's family and fans in mourning.
