MOHALI: Chandigarh Group of Colleges Jhanjeri campus Girls' Chess Team secured a bronze medal at the IKGPTU Chess Tournament 2024, hosted by CEC Landran. Competing against seven colleges, the team displayed exceptional strategy and determination through four competitive rounds.
The team started strong, defeating AGC Amritsar in the opening round, followed by a well-fought draw against Deviat, Jalandhar. A crucial win against IKGPTU-MC Jalandhar propelled them into the semi-finals. In the final round, despite fierce competition against GNDEC Ludhiana, CGC Jhanjeri clinched third place, winning on one board and securing the bronze medal.
The winning Team Members were Komal Verma from MBA, Anshul Gupta from B.Com, Khushi Garg from BBA, Upasna from B.Sc, Shanu Jaswal from MBA.
