DHARAMSALA: Five individuals, including three members of the same family, tragically lost their lives on Sunday afternoon when the truck they were traveling in rolled 100 meters down a gorge in Rasehar Village near Dharamsala.
According to a government release, four persons died on the spot, while one passed away on the way to the hospital. The administration and police have arrived at the scene, and further details are expected to emerge.
The administration has reported that the decesed were transporting wheat in the truck from their growing area. However, on the approach road near Uthadagran, the truck fell approximately 100 meters below the road in Gram Panchayat Rasehar. More information is expected to be released as the investigation continues.
MLA Dharamsala Sudhir Sharma, who is currently in Shimla, expressed his condolences to the families of the deceased and stated that the government would provide all possible assistance to the victims of the accident. The Tehsildar Dharamshala has been dispatched for relief and rescue work, and those injured in the accident are receiving medical treatment. The administration has provided immediate relief of 25-25 thousand to the victims.
Chief Minister, Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has expressed grief over the death of persons, who lost their lives in a road accident at Rasehar village of Gram Panchayat Uthragran in Dharamshala assembly constituency of Kangra district today.
"The Government stands by the family in this hour of sorrow and directions have been issued to the district administration to provide immediate relief to the families of victims", said the Chief Minister.
He wished speedy recovery of the injured and directed the hospital authorities to provide best possible treatment to them.
