AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee(SGPC) President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami today appealed to all organizations of the Sikh Panth, Damdami Taksal, Nihang Singh Dals, global Sikh organizations, Singh Sabhas, Diwans, Sabha Societies and scholars and intellectuals living in the country and abroad to send their suggestions till APRIL 20 to determine the rules regarding the qualification, appointment, scope of work, responsibilities and retirement of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

He said that it has been a long-standing demand of the Sikh community that service rules be formulated in view of the respect and importance of the post of Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, for which a resolution of in-principle approval was passed in the general session of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee yesterday. In the spirit of this resolution, the views of all the organizations and institutions of the nation as well as Sikh intellectuals regarding the appointment, services and retirement of Jathedar Sahib are important.

Therefore, their suggestions should be sent to the Shiromani Committee by 20 April 2025 so that a common national opinion can be formed for the service rules after considering them. Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami said that these suggestions should be sent to the Shiromani Committee in writing or on the official email info@sgpc.net and WhatsApp number 7710136200.
