SGPC observes death anniversary of Indira Gandhi's assassin Bhai Beant Singh

AMRITSAR: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee today observed 37th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh one of the assassins of former Prime Miinister Indira Gandhi.,   SGPC with the support of the Sangat, offered the blessings of Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Gurdwara Jhanda Bunga Sahib within in Sri Darbar Sahib complex.

On this occasion, the jatha of Hazuri Ragi Bhai Jagroop Singh of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib performed Gurbani Kirtan and after the prayer, the holy commandment was recited by Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harimandar Sahib Giani Baljit Singh

Discussing with the congregation on the occasion of the event, Giani Baljit Singh said that the Sikh community can never forget the attack on Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib and Sri Akal Takht Sahib by the then Indian government in 1984.

He said that after the attack on Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Bhai Beant Singh and his fellow Singhs got martyrdom while fulfilling their duty by expressing the sentiments of the Sikh community.

He said that Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh, Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh and Shaheed Bhai Kehar Singh are highly respected in the Sikh community and will always be. They had assassinated former PM Indira Gandhi to revenge army attack on Golden Temple on June 2, 1984.

On this occasion, Granthi Singh Sahib of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib Giani Baljit Singh, Secretary of the Shiromani Committee. Pratap Singh and the manager of Sri Darbar Sahib. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera presented Siropao to the family members of Shaheed Singhs.

On this occasion, Additional Secretary. Balwinder Singh Kahlwan, s. Gurinder Singh Mathrewal, Mr. Preetpal Singh, Deputy Secretary Gurcharan Singh Kohala, Mr. Balwinder Singh Khairabad, Manager S. Narinder Singh, Additional Manager Apart from Iqbal Singh Mukhi. Waryam Singh Agwan, S. Beant Singh Khayala, S. Sukhwinder Singh Agwan, Mr. Tarsem Singh etc. were present.
