Farmer leaders says, they no more trust Bhagwant Mann government
CHANDIGARH: The Samyukt Kisan Morcha (SKM) today rejected the invitation of Punjab government for a meeting on their demands related with state government. The BKU( Ugrahan) has also rejected the invite saying the atmosphere is not congenial for any meeting with the government.
The SK leaders and Ugrahan said that Punjab government had lost trust of farmers and they no more trust the Bhagwant Mann government. The SKM leaders demanded immediate release of arrested farmers, compensate them for the their damaged vehicles and goods and also demanded update on the health of arrested leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal.
The SKM leaders said that they had received the invitation for meeting late last night and discussed in detail. The leaders said that Bhagwant Mann government had invited the leaders for meeting and arrested them. They condemned the arrest and said that there is no guarantee it would not happen again.
The leaders said that Punjab government was doing highhandedness with all sections including farmers and government employees.
SKM leaders have postponed their dharna of March 26 at Chandigarh and decided to hold district level dharnas on March 28.
Gurmeet Singh Khudian agriculture minister who had called the meeting assured the farmers that they would not be arrested.
