CHANDIGARH: The Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (RCED) successfully conducted four Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) under the “Education to Excellence” initiative onbehalf of Directorate of Education for the faculty members of Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (SGPC). These programs were organized at Talwandi Sabo, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Amritsar, witnessing participation from 94 faculty members representing 31 colleges across Punjab.
The FDPs aimed to equip faculty members with essential knowledge and skills to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students. As a result of these initiatives, participating faculty members will further organize Entrepreneurship Awareness Programs for interested students.
Moving forward, they will further organize Entrepreneurship Development Programs, Skill Development Programs in various trades, Internship Programs, International Certifications, and provide hand-holding support to youth until they successfully get placed and establish their own ventures.
To ensure sustained engagement, FDP groups have been created to facilitate sessions on Presentations, General Awareness, the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), various other government schemes, and Banking Norms.
At the inaugural and valedictory functions, S. Sukhwinder Singh, Secretary Education, SGPC, graced the events as the chief guest. He provided an in-depth insight into the “Education to Excellence” initiative, highlighting government job opportunities, career guidance, and avenues for self-employment.
Principals of the colleges were actively associated and their names include, Dr. Kamalpreet Kaur, Principal, Mata Sahib Kaur Girls College, Talwandi Sabo, Dr. Rajinder Kaur, Deputy Director, Dr. Kulwinder Singh, Principal, Trai Shatabdi Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Amritsar, Dr. Kashmir Singh, Principal, Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, Dr. Narinder Singh.
The concluding session was led by S. Paramjit Singh, Director, RCED. The program featured insightful sessions conducted by S. Balbir Singh, Senior Advisor, RCED; Mr. Tarun Banerjee, Motivational Speaker; Mr. Joginder Singh Bhutani, Former AGM, State Bank of India (SBI); and S. Sarbjeet Singh, Speaker, RCED, former additional Director Industries, Dr. S.B. Singh, Dr. S.S. Hundal, Mr. Prithvi Raj Bhandari, M.D Bhandari Engg. Works Pvt. Ltd. Mrs. Jaspal Kur and Mr. Sunil coordinated the program These initiatives by RCED, in collaboration with SGPC, mark a significant step toward creating
an ecosystem of entrepreneurship and skill development in Punjab, ensuring that students receive the guidance and resources necessary to become successful entrepreneurs.
