CHANDIGARH: Punjab Government led by Bhagwant Mann today suspended 15 Tehsildars and Nain Tehsildars and ordered transfer of 58 Tehsildars and 177 Naib Tehsildars over their ongoing protest. The Tehsildars had announced to stop registry work in the Tehsils till Friday.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had yesterday given ultimatum to revenue officials to return to work till r5 PM or face action. The Tehsildar Association had claimed that they were performing their duties regularly but not doing registry work to lodge their protest against Vigilance raids and registration of fake cases against them.

While 14 Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars who abstained from work were suspended late last night, one Tehsildar Lachman Singh posted in Patti, Taran Taran was suspended today. The suspended Tehsildars have been told to report in the office of ACS revenue at Chandigarh.

The opposition parties have blamed the AAP government for not listening to grievances of the Tehsildars and other sections of employees.

The Tehsildar Association said that they were on Monday called for meeting with the minister but the meeting was cancelled at last minute.
