AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee organized Sri Akhand Path Sahib at Sri Akal Takht Sahib today on the occasion of Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke's death anniversary.
After the Bhog of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, the Raagi jaya of Bhai Gurdev Singh performed Gurbani Kirtan.
The prayers were offered by Bhai Kulwant Singh and the Holy hukamnam (Orders) were taken by the Granthi of Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, Giani Kewal Singh.
Giani Kewal Singh while sharing thoughts with the congregation remembered the services rendered by Jathedar Bhai Gurdev Singh Kanunke.
Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal, former general secretary of SGPC while addressing the gathering , said that SGPC , the representative body of the Sikh community, always celebrates Sikh Martyrs' Day with pride.
According to the orders of Shiromani Committee President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, the annual death anniversary of the respected figure of the Sikh community, Shaheed Jathedar Gurdev Singh Kaunke, has been observed.
He said that the Jathedar was a Gursikh dedicated to Sikhism and devotion, whose sacrifice will always be respected by the nation.
Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal and Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka honored the family members of Bhai Gurdev Singh Kaunke by Shiromani Committee on the occasion of Sri Akhand Path Sahib.
On this occasion, Chief Secretary of Sri Akal Takht Sahib Giani Malkit Singh, Shiromani Committee Member Advocate Bhagwant Singh Sialka, Secretary S. Pratap Singh Sri Darbar Sahib Manager S. Bhagwant Singh Dhangera, Deputy Secretary. Balwinder Singh Khairabad, S. Harbhajan Singh Wakta, s. Sukhbir Singh, former secretary Jagjit Singh Jaggi, Superintendent Nishan Singh, S.
