CHANDIGARH: Partap Singh Bajwa leader of opposition has flayed gormer CM Capt Amarinder Singh for ignoring farmer's issues and not using his infleunce with PM to resolve the issues.
He said that despite residing in Punjab, he remained silent as farmers' crops were left to rot over the past three weeks. Now, on the eve of bypolls, he reemerges with promises, ” Bajwa remarked, calling Singh’s actions “political theater” that takes advantage of Punjab’s farmers in their time of need. He questioned why Capt. Amarinder hadn’t used his influence to reach out to the Prime Minister earlier, asking if the delay was deliberate to align with upcoming elections in four assembly segments.
Bajwa further emphasized that Capt. Amarinder’s tardy visit to the grain markets seems little more than a political stunt, given his silence on the plight of the farmers for so long. Capt. Amarinder was standing idly while Punjab’s agricultural backbone suffers under his BJP allies and the AAP-led Punjab government.”
Highlighting Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann’s absence from the mandis during this crucial procurement period, Bajwa demanded accountability. “Why has CM Mann not made a single visit to the mandis to address the grievances of our farmers directly? Such indifference to the struggles of our state’s farmers is unacceptable, and it begs the question: has the AAP government entered into a tacit understanding with the BJP to ignore Punjab’s needs?”
Bajwa urged the people of Punjab to see through what he called SAD’s “strategic silence, ” hinting at a possible deal with parties looking to take advantage of the situation.
