PATIALA: Youth Akali Dal President Sarabjit Singh Jhinjer today strongly slammed CM Bhagwant Mann and his Aam Aadmi Party government for backstabbing the farmers.
Taking on the CM and his government, Jhinjer said, “The Aam Aadmi Party has clearly betrayed and backstabbed our farmers. First, they invited our farm leaders for a meeting in Chandigarh, and as soon as the meeting was over, they immediately arrested them. After arresting the leaders, they forcefully removed both the Shambhu and Khanauri Morchas, even resorting to violence against our peacefully protesting farmers.”
Jhinjer further said, “This was meticulously planned on the orders of Arvind Kejriwal, who was in Punjab for the past several days, fearing an impending loss in the Ludhiana by-elections. The Aam Aadmi Party is purposely creating an atmosphere of animosity between the farmers and the trading community to play vote-bank politics, but this won’t work in Punjab. No matter what they try, our unity and brotherhood cannot be broken.”
Sarabjit Jhinjer also slammed AAP MLA from Ghanaur, saying, “It’s highly shameful that MLA Gurlal Ghanaur has betrayed the very farmers who helped him become an MLA. We used to respect him as a Kabaddi player, but yesterday he sent tractors and his men to the Khanauri border to destabilize the Kisan Morcha. His tractors were used by the police to destroy tents and haul away the trolleys of our farmers.”
Jhinjer further reminded Bhagwant Mann, “Lest you forget, Mr. Mann, it was you who used to question former CM Captain Amarinder Singh, saying, ‘Stop fooling the farmers by claiming their demands are with the Centre and provide them with an MSP guarantee.’ You used to promise MSP on 22 crops if your government was formed. Where is that guarantee now? Instead of giving farmers MSP, all you have given them is disrespect, lathis, and jails. Shame on you!”
He further said, “You were a Punjabi who used to talk about our farmers and farming until you became the CM. After taking the oath as CM, something changed in you, and now, every day, you speak the language of the BJP as if your orders are also coming straight from Nagpur.”
